Physical Topology

Physical Topology: This refers to the manner in which the network is physically determined, it is geometric representation of all the links and devices in the network. Five basic physical topologies are used in the network.

1. Bus Topology
2. Star Topology
3. Ring Topology
4. Mesh Topology
5. Cellular Topology

These topologies can be added further to create the following topology:

1. tree Topology
2. Hybrid Topology

Network Topology

The network topology refers to the way in which the devices are connected to the network. A network topology is an arrangement with computer systems or network devices connected to each other.
